Personality:

Nick, having lived a great portion of his life on his own is very independent. As a result he hates controlling or domineering people, as he always wants to do things on his own in his own way and in his own time. He sets very precise schedules and lists out in his head and if they are tampered with he gets very flustered and agitated. When he wants to do something he aspires for though, he is very devoted and will get the job done. Although he is a person who always sets himself in solitude, he craves close contact and relationships with others. But because of his cold isolated personality it’s very hard for him to show that he does want to get close to people, and in a way he is scared of getting close to others, mostly because of his fear of separation. Nick is very clingy and needy, when he is close to someone he’ll be very nervous around them always making sure he sticks close and doesn’t make them angry at him in any way, shape, or form. He is seen as very snobbish and uptight, always wanting things his way and not too easy on letting others have theirs, or agreeing to other’s opinions. He has a cold heart, broken over time; his care for others is still there he just buries it with his own worries. He tries to not to dwell to much over the concerns of other people and mostly for just concerns of his own, he finds it easier this way to not have any one depend on him. Nick can be somewhat of a hopeless romantic as well, aspiring for that closeness with another, yet not entirely sure how to go about it. One day he will hate the idea of romance and then the next he’ll crave it. He hates it when he yearns for the closeness of others, and will often block out thoughts relating to such if he finds himself dwelling on them for too long. Nick sets very high expectations for himself and for others; he never expects his plans in his head to go wrong or to have any flaw. This is why he is let down very often, and another reason why he is so bitter, he thinks he is a complete and utter screw-up. When conversing, Nick is very blunt. If he thinks your personality is strange or something about your appearance tips him off he will most likely tell you. He is rude yet what he finds honest. Though he is blunt he is not bold, if he were to like something about you he would most likely keep it to himself, he is very quick to point out the negative not so much the positives. He is also very naïve, making his mindset much like a child’s. The intelligence is there, he just doesn’t have a very good sense of judgment making it quite easy to trick him. On top of this he doesn’t have a high school education, this doesn’t concern him much. He tries to learn, he just hates studying. Nick is very one-sided and close-minded. He has a one track mind and isn’t inclined to hear the judgment of others, once he has his mind made up it’s very hard to change it, also making him extremely stubborn. Nick is very lonely no matter what he may say or how he may act to encourage others otherwise. On top of all this he is extremely insecure, he tries to cover this up as well, though it really eats him alive. His distaste for himself expands beyond unhealthy, and it doesn’t help that he places himself in such an alone state to where only he has is himself. He has been insecure for pretty much his whole life, though his brother had always been there to curve it; once his brother was taken away though, his self-loathing grew a lot worse.  Nick is also finicky; he is very easy to scare away given the right attitude. He hates any kind of physical contact, and will instantly grow cold to a too touchy acquaintance. If Nick has any type of humor at all it would defiantly be sarcasm, or dry humor. Saying rather funny things with a straight dead pan face, making it difficult to tell whether he’s being serious or not. Though it is very rare to get him to try joking around lightly it is possible, rather he just uses sarcasm a lot.

History: Nick lived in an orphanage with his brother for as long as he could remember. He has no recollection of his parents, nor does he wish to know anything about them. He thinks their either both dead or they couldn’t afford the expenses to take care of him and his older brother. Although Nick has suspicions his brother knows their whereabouts his brother has never mentioned it, and Nick has never asked. 

Nick and his brother, placed in foster care, went through many families and homes together. They were never once separated, and they liked to keep it that way. His brother had promised him when he came of age he would leave the orphanage and take Nick with him. So to fulfill this promise they made sure no family would ever want to officially adopt them. They worked as a team, acting like spoiled brats, or calling for over the top attention.

    They kept up the act for years until his brother finally had his eighteenth birthday and left the orphanage with him. They lived in poverty in an old run-down apartment building, though Nick didn’t mind much. While Nick went into middle school (he had gotten most of his elementary education from the handmaids at the orphanage) his brother took many upon many jobs to afford bills, rent, food, etc. It began wearing down on his brother, until he met a man in an organization called Team Rocket. They offered him a full time job, which paid quite well. Without hesitation he accepted, and they began living a little better. That is until his brother began noticing the wanted signs for Team Rocket and all the trouble and mischief they were causing. His brother had already been rooted in the organization though, he knew too much about their plans and he couldn’t leave now.

    He drew the last line when one of his coworkers lashed out at Nick. Nick had been yelling at him in a rage, angry at him for joining Team Rocket and for performing such wicked acts, he said ever since he had joined the organization his brother had been away from home more often and had grown colder. His coworker sent out his Pokemon which gave Nick a long scar down his left eye. His brother then quit Team Rocket and with Nick moved away. They lived in various apartment buildings, as they kept moving from place to place trying to avoid Team Rocket. It stopped when not Team Rocket but the police caught up with him and arrested his brother. They arrested him for many of his conniving acts he did, as well as the organization itself. And acts he didn’t even know Team Rocket was committing, but he was blamed for anyway. As a result he was ordered to be put in jail for many years. Nick’s brother, not wanting the police to send Nick back to the orphanage, had told Nick to flee the town and leave him behind.

    Nick from then on, had to live in solitude, mostly on the streets. He grew bitter without his brother, and deeply misses him. He made a vow to himself to set him free somehow so they could be reunited once more. He now lives in Jubilife City in the Sinnoh region and works at the local Poke’mart, he doesn’t get much pay for it but it’s the only job he can really keep up.  He never finished middle school and has never attended a Pokemon Trainer school in his life. Still though, he carries around one Pokemon. His brother’s Jolteon he gave him before he was locked away. Nick has a soft spot for electric types and aspires to be an electric type gym leader someday, though he doubts that will ever happen in his future. The future looked very bleak to Nick, that is until a certain Darkrai appeared to him in his dreams and offered him an opportunity he couldn’t refuse…
